Thanks to our generous Cultivating Hope campaign donors, we were able to purchase two large scroll saws and an air-filtration system for Holy Cross’ woodshop. Two of our tCI team members accepted the shipment at our office as the tools made their way to their new home, where young people and their invested adult mentors will put them to good use.
The woodshop, like all of Holy Cross’ programs, gives young people a safe place to spend time off the street this summer. As violence in Chicago reaches record levels, it’s more important than ever to have places like the woodshop and Holy Cross’ Casa Romero, where children and teens spend supervised time doing something productive for the community, away from the often-violent streets.
Our current Cultivating Hope campaign is also focused on helping children in need . . . specifically the young refugee students at Little Ones Preschool in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Read more about the campaign to bring music to tCI’s littlest students.
